Jewels of the Nile Announce New EP and Video

Jessy DeLaurentis and Meghan Scanlon began collaborating as Jewels of the Nile in 2010 quickly resulting in the sensational and ambitious debut full length, Pleasure, on renowned French label Desire Records. Their latest EP, Ad Astra, builds on their hypnotic, cascading sonic sculptures and massive bass beat rhythms for a sound that’s provocatively avant garde and instantly addictive.

Ad Astra translates as “To the Stars”. The EP reflects the sentiment with otherworldly synthscapes, all at once alien and familiar. Like DNA-encoded memories hidden in the spaces between the resonating beats, DeLaurentis’ phantasmic vocals echo across spacious valleys of Scanlon’s cold tones. The EP’s dark and ambient sound was recorded and produced in Los Angeles by Sean Tallen throughout 2012.

Ad Astra is out in mid-February 2013 on underground Hollywood-based label Records Ad Nauseam.
