Successful Conception in a 31 Year Old Woman Following Reduction of Vertebral Misalignment

After receiving vertebral misalignment corrections, a 31-year-old woman who was unable to get pregnant for nine months prior to chiropractic care, successfully conceived, reports David Packer, D.C., owner and founder of Precision Spinal Care.

Jan. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- A recent article in the Journal of Pediatric, Maternal and Family Health reported on a 31-year-old female who had been unable to conceive until she received chiropractic care.

The woman presented to a chiropractic office with the intent of improving overall health.  Her health history included headaches, digestive complaints and sacroiliac joint (located in the lower back) pain with bending.  She had also been unable to conceive after nine months of attempting to do so prior to visiting this office. Chesapeake-based David Packer, D.C., who follows health and wellness issues in professional journals and other publications closely, states, “Infertility has been estimated to affect 7.3 million American women.  Only 11% of women aged 29 and younger are deemed infertile, whereas after 30 that number jumps to 17% and to 22.6% after the age of 35.”  Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sexual intercourse.

In this case, an initial examination of the nervous system showed poor functioning of the autonomic and motor systems.  The woman was recommended a course of care consisting of regular chiropractic adjustments.  After one and a half months of getting adjusted for the purposes of correcting vertebral subluxations, she was able to conceive; however, the first pregnancy was not viable because there was no genetic material in the egg – a common reason for miscarriage.

Two months later, while remaining on a wellness schedule of chiropractic adjustments at a frequency of one visit per week, she conceived again and this pregnancy was carried to term with no complications.  “Through the detection and correction of vertebral misalignments, or subluxations,” Dr. Packer related, “a chiropractor restores control to the body to use its natural inborn ability to self-regulate and heal.  Chiropractors theorize that the inability to conceive is one of the many problems a woman could have as a direct result of a poorly functioning nervous system.  This is just one study of many showing how chiropractic can positively affect conception,” explained Dr. Packer, “however, it should be emphasized that chiropractic care should not be utilized as a treatment for fertility, but an approach to restoring optimal nervous system function by the correcting of subluxations.”
