The annual awards ceremony recognises the achievements of both businesses and individuals in the UK leisure marine industry.
Commenting on his award, Philip says, “I am thrilled to receive this award. It’s fantastic to be recognised by the marine industry for the efforts that my colleagues and I have put in to developing extremely strong collections for Chatham. It’s especially nice to have been recognised for my personal achievements, considering the high quality talent there is in the industry.”
The award further illustrates the recent success of Chatham, who was also triumphant at the prestigious DAME awards in Amsterdam only two months ago, where the brand came top in the Crew and Clothing Accessories category with its revolutionary sail cloth deck shoes – the first ever British engineered sail cloth deck shoe for the European market.
Philip Marsh, 32, formerly a footwear developer at Lacoste, joined Chatham in 2008 as Marketing Director and became Managing Director two years later. Since then, the company has grown year on year with increasingly impressive sales figures, despite difficult economic circumstances. Under his direction, Philip also saw the company expand into new markets across Europe, as well as widen the distribution network of the brand.
He added, “I can’t take all the credit, as everyone at Chatham has helped make 2012 a fantastic year for us and they too deserve a great deal of recognition.”
Chatham footwear is available from John Lewis, Debenhams, chandleries, independent retailers nationwide and online at: www.chatham-
