Participants are invited to share their ideas, big or small, about a product, service, offering, work of art, concept, solution, cause, revolution, movement or mission that they would like to take from passion to action in 2013. There is no limit to the kinds of ideas that are welcomed. It can be the introduction of something brand new or it can be the reintroduction of something that has been around for years, which is ready for the attention it deserves. The only requirement is that it is something that has meaning, that matters, to the participant.
The Ideas That Matter judges include partners Michelle Molin, Kew Gardens, NY; William Duffy, Dix Hills, NY; and David Shao, Vancouver, BC, among others. The panel will choose one winning idea for the grand prize. The ITM creative team will work with the selected individual, team or organization to turn their idea into a story that matters and create a custom video, website, mobile site, email and communications strategy to help them share it, for free. Entry deadline is midnight, January 31, 2013.
“The world is full of writers, artists, inventors, entrepreneurs and big thinkers, with brilliant ideas for inspiring, motivating, helping, fixing, easing or advancing our lives, our communities, our economies,” says Michelle Molin, Ideas That Matter partner. “The problem is that not enough of them believe in their own ability to do so. ” She adds, “The world is not suffering from a shortage of brilliant ideas, simply a perceived shortage of realistic opportunities for sharing them. We are offering exactly that − an opportunity to take an idea from passion to action.”
“Chefs, stay at home moms, yoga teachers, personal trainers, runners, acupuncturists, massage therapists, non-profit groups, any new, independent, or small business owner or individual with passion, through their life and work experiences, have learned and developed skills that serve them and their clients everyday,” says David Shao, Ideas That Matter partner. “Skills that we all could potentially benefit from.” He adds, “We want to hear from them just as much as we want to hear from the established business owner. We want to level the playing field among big and small players and help them all reach out to their targets, those that need them, utilizing the amazing array of digital technologies that are available to us all.”
