Jan. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- The long journey of the Jewish Rosales family seeking a place they will not be persecuted, is told in Fermosa-Rosales: An Endless Road. The saga covers the many miles undertaken to reach a safe haven over a period of 100 years.

In 1492, the edict of expulsion for Spanish Jews was published. Fermosa was 26 when she left her beloved Toledo, Spain, with her two children. They travel the long road to Portugal, where Fermosa finds love with Fernando, whose support she needs when her son dies. They leave five years later, when the king orders all Jews be converted or expelled. Next comes a voyage through the pirate-infested Mediterranean to Tlemcen, Algeria. When the Spanish armada threatens to invade, they leave for Istanbul. After their ship is wrecked in Crete, they end up in Venice. Ordered to live in the city’s ghetto, the family leaves for Pinsk, Russia, where Fermosa dies.

Fermosa’s grandson finally settles in Vilna, Poland, where he tells the family history that comes to a great extent from his grandmother’s diary. An Endless Road is an apt description of the wandering Jews of Europe, fleeing persecution in the Middle Ages and beyond.
