The fast casual chain is known for its Asian street-inspired cuisine, in a combination of founder and CEO Steven Chan's love of food, architecture, art and music. The Tin Drum menu – which includes more than 35 items inspired from a wide range of Asian influences – replicates the street vendors of Chan’s native Hong Kong, while the music evokes the hustle and bustle of big city streets.
“The music, the atmosphere, the technology, the service – they are all just as important as the food,” said Chan. Everything comes together to create the true Tin Drum customer experience.”
Chan, who curates the playlist for all 12 Tin Drum locations, created the Tin Drum Music Player to share the Tin Drum experience with fans of the restaurant. Each week the site will share a different video from local Atlanta artists with its 50,000-plus followers on social media. Visitors to the site will be able to download the band or artist’s music from the site. Featured musicians will be streamed back to the Tin Drum Music Player. The Tin Drum Music Player Artist schedule will be posted on Tin Drum’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/
Atlanta singer/songwriter Gareth Asher will be the first local artist to be featured on Tin Drum Music Player. The music will be fed via The Tin Drum Music Player. With the kind of voice that stops every passer-by on its sheer power and resonance, Gareth Asher’s music has grabbed the attention of top music industry leadership. Gareth attributes many of his musical sensibilities to influential artists like Jackson Browne, Don Henley and Otis Redding. Some of his contemporary influences include the likes of Toad the Wet Sprocket, Aqualung, and Amos Lee. Gareth is contributing seven songs to in the feature indie film entitled “Painting in the Rain,” including his haunting duet “Safe and Sound.”
"I think it's great what Steven is doing, sharing local music on the Tin Drum Facebook site. It's going to open up a whole new world of followers in the Atlanta area to the Tin Drum, just from the fans of the featured artists. That's going to set him apart by doing that – it'll be a story for people to share and talk about," said Gareth Asher.
