Julien Bigan, Roche Bobois general manager for the U.S. South East, said that the site, located at 136 U.S. Highway One in North Palm Beach, totals 20,000 square feet. This encompasses the building and a parking lot in front solely for the use of Roche Bobois customers and employees.
Roche Bobois and the landlord, IDT Holdings, were represented in the lease transaction by Norman Thomas with Touchstone Webb in Palm Beach.
“We are very pleased to have Roche Bobois as a tenant and new member of the North Palm Beach business community,” said IDT Holdings Director of Operations and CFO Bob Bell. “Their operation is top notch and first class all the way. We are very excited to see the transformation of the space into one of the most spectacular free- standing buildings along the U.S. Highway One corridor. As a resident and longtime business owner in North Palm, I could not imagine a better addition to our community or a better project to jump start the corridor’s rejuvenation that we have all discussed for so long and that is finally happening.”
“Everyone, including the Village Council, has been very supportive of the luxury
brand Roche Bobois coming to North Palm Beach, so we already feel at home,” Bigan
pointed out. “The showroom will be south of the intersection of Northlake Boulevard and
U.S. Highway One, with great visibility. One of the spectacular exterior features will be a
double façade made of Alucobond material brought directly from Germany by
ThyssenKrupp. This will create a double-height effect on the front and set us apart from
the neighboring structures.”
The parking area and landscaping are also being completely renovated. “We have made very eco-friendly selections, in keeping with our company’s commitment to respect the environment. An abundance of new trees, shrubs and ground cover, as well as natural wood fences, will provide further enhancements,”
The custom interiors, featuring interior design by Roche Bobois in-house architects Jacqueline Hopfer and Nicolas Roche, will meet the showroom’s specific needs. The inside will encompass LED lighting by Delta Light to provide a total different effect, allowing customers and designers to see the true colors of Roche Bobois’ rich materials and finishes. Reflecting the current trend to use wallpaper, French wallpaper is being installed on the interior walls. Tile flooring will feature a contemporary grey concrete finish.
Producing its own exclusive furniture and accessories for the home, the Roche
Bobois Paris brand was born in 1961, resulting from a merger of two French family businesses. The company has become a worldwide symbol of fine European-made furniture, design and distribution. There are 240 Roche Bobois retail showrooms in 40 countries throughout the world, the majority of which are corporate owned. Twenty-four of the 240 locations are situated in the U.S. The North Palm Beach showroom will join another Florida showroom which has been operating in Coral Gables.
