RunWild 5K to benefit the homeless set for Feb. 9 at Zoo Miami

What: The 2013 RunWild 5K run/walk to benefit Chapman Partnership (http://www.chapmanpartnership.org/homeless-shelter/miami-charity.php), which helps to empower the homeless (http://www.miamidade.gov/homeless/homeless-assistance-cen...) in Miami-Dade County
When: Saturday, Feb.  9, 2013

Event Times:
Registration: 7 a.m.
Start time: 8 a.m.

Background: Bring your family and friends for a 5-kilometer run or walk through beautiful Zoo Miami. Competitive awards will be given to the top three males and females in each age category. Activities for the runners and walkers include a stretch session by Pilates in the Grove. A bounce house, clowns and music will provide entertainment for children. The Arthur & Polly Mays Conservatory of the Arts (http://apmays.dadeschools.net/index.htm) marching band and auxiliary team, fresh off their Junior Orange Bowl Parade act, will kick off the event. A health fair with blood pressure testing and more also is planned.

Fundraising
Proceeds from fundraising activities for the race will benefit Chapman Partnership (http://www.chapmanpartnership.org/), formerly Community Partnership for Homeless. The organization helps the homeless put their lives back together with a comprehensive support program that includes emergency shelter, meals, health and dental care, day care, job training, job placement, and assistance with securing housing.
