ABIH Awarded Continued ANSI Accreditation

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 15, 2013 - The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) has proudly announced that the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has granted ABIH continued accreditation for 2013.  Since 2009, ABIH has been accredited by ANSI for its renowned Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) program.

ANSI’s Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee (PCAC) determined that ABIH continues to meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17024 - International Standard Conformity Assessment - General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons.  ABIH’s accreditation to the standard provides global recognition and validation of the CIH program.  

“This prestigious and continued recognition was achieved following ANSI’s thorough annual review and extensive on-site assessment of ABIH’s systems and procedures,” reported Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH.   “ABIH continues its role in an elite group of accredited certification programs that provide recognition and value to those professionals who have obtained ANSI accredited certifications such as the Certified Industrial Hygienist.  Continuing accreditation provides recognition that ABIH is administering an internationally recognized certification program.  This is great news for CIHs, employers, workers and the general public who rely on ABIH to provide a high quality certification program.”

The ABIH program is the world’s largest, premier certification for Industrial Hygienists.
