The Cox Family’s Chevrolet dealership was first established in 1926 in Georgia. The family ran two separate dealerships, then in 1932 both dealerships were sold and the family relocated to Bradenton Florida, where it established a single location in the city. Cox Chevrolet remains in the family to this day and is now run by the 5th generation of the family. Cox Chevrolet’s sister dealership, Cox Mazda, was established ten years ago.
Both Cox Chevrolet and Cox Mazda, along with other area dealerships, all reported higher sales in 2012. In some cases the dealerships were not able to keep particular models on the lot.
With the rising cost of fuel, many buyers chose to trade in their older cars for smaller, more fuel-efficient four-cylinder models in 2012. Manufacturer promotions and rebates along with a number of model upgrades also helped to draw in buyers who have been putting off investing in a new car. Many manufacturers also made the decision to offer financing to buyers in a wider range of credit situations to help boost sales.
For 2013, analysts predict sales to continue the upward trend of the previous year. Small and midsize cars are expected to continue to sell well, and the sales figures of large pickup trucks are also expected to rise.
Cox Chevrolet is located at 2900 Cortez Road West in Bradenton, FL and is open Monday through Saturday. The dealership carries hundreds of the latest 2013 models from Chevrolet (http://www.coxmazda.com/
