Paul Chamberlain Classical Accordion
PRLog - Jan. 15, 2013 - CAMBRIDGE, U.K. -- Born in Scotland, Paul was encouraged in the art of music from an early age. With his grandfather being an organist and composer, as well as an overseas examiner for Trinity College of Music his father was also a professional violinist. Paul is now the 3rd generation to have mastered his respective instrument. Over the last ten years he has vastly developed his performance technique. Working with inspirational teacher Djordje Gajic, Chamberlain has taken numerous master-classes with experts such as Owen Murray, Peter Soave and Jean-Louis Norton.

Despite having a complex heart condition, which at points interrupted his musical studies, Chamberlain overcame these to be awarded a first class degree in classical accordion from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Whilst studying there he was awarded the acclaimed Governors Recital Prize, with a subsequent live performance broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Classics Unwrapped’ programme.

Chamberlain’s musical ingenuity has already taken him across the world having performed at international music festivals such as Baltica Harmonica in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Sata-Häme Soi Accordion festival in Ikaalinen, Finland. Further to these he has also performed in France, Italy, Greece, and Bahrain, as well as part of groups that include the Paragon Ensemble and the Scottish Tango Ensemble. This tour is certainly set to top these already significant achievements.

Paul Chamberlain will make his Bridgewater Hall debut on the 13th of February with a solo recital as part of the long established Manchester Mid-Days concert series and will finish his tour in California with a recital at Seventh Avenue Church.
