UNCF – Diversity Solutions in a Global Marketplace
UNCF’s mission is to increase the number of African American college graduates by ensuring students successfully transition to and through college. UNCF accomplishes its mission by:
Ø Strengthening the capacity of UNCF’s network of private historically black colleges to ensure high performing students
Ø Increasing the number of African American and underrepresented college graduates by providing substantial academic and financial support to students
Ø Strengthening UNCF’s role as a leading advocate for a quality, affordable college education through increased parental and civic engagement in issues impacting minority degree attainment.
UNCF administers over 400 academic scholarships, including the Gates Millennium Scholarship, fellowships and summer enrichment programs for students and faculty development programs for UNCF member college instructors. Today, UNCF supports more than 60,000 UNCF member college students and students attending over 900 colleges and universities across the country. UNCF member colleges are an emerging, preferred resource for companies seeking highly motivated and skilled African American college graduates.
