Artists Collaborate for Human Rights in London

International Women's Initiative's events entitled ‘Fusion Forums 2013’ begins February 15th

Jan. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Did you know 1 million children are exploited in the sex trade each year? 70% of females trafficked are in the commercial sex trade? £20 billion a year profit is generated by human trafficking? IWI does and they think it is time to talk about it.

International Women’s Initiative is set to host Fusion Forums 2013 – a five part series of art exhibitions held monthly at UNIT24 Gallery – a stone throws away from The Tate Modern. These events will be a forum for art and discussion on human rights. Each event will use a range of mediums, including performance, photography, music, dance to highlight social concerns.

The focus of the first event is the objectification of women and the problems this causes, particularly sexual slavery. Entry will be £25, with all profits going directly towards funding women empowerment projects around the world.

International Women's Initiative is a non-profit organisation which supports and works to strengthen women and women's community efforts across the globe. IWI is currently working on the Safe Birthing Programme, in collaboration with Hope Development Initiative. The programme aims to improve maternal health and infant mortality in the Amolatar district of Uganda.
