San Antonio Gastroenterology Practice Annunces Addition of Nurse Practioner Suzanne McGregor

Dar, FACG has partnered with Nurse Practioner (NP) Suzzane McGregor to provide the highest quality medical treatment to patients with an assortment of medical problems and diseases. Together, Dr. Dar and NP McGregor treat a variety of symptoms and conditions related to:  Abdominal Pain, Constipation, Colon Cancer, Diarrhea, Difficulty swallowing,  Esophageal Cancer, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Gallbladder disease • Heartburn, Hiatal Hernia, Indigestion, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Liver problems, Pancreas problems, Peptic Ulcers and Rectal bleeding.

Gastroenterology is a medical specialty that involves the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the digestive system. These disorders may affect the esophagus (food tube), stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), rectum, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. A gastroenterologist is a physician who is trained in internal medicine and then spends several additional years of training in gastroenterology. Most gastroenterologists are board certified in Internal Medicine. Then after specialty training and further testing, a physician can become board certified in gastroenterology.

Suzanne received her Bachelors degree in Nursing from Baylor University in 1994. She continued her training as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and received her Masters and Post-Masters degrees in 2008 and 2009 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Visit: http://www.uthscsa.edu/. As a Nurse Practitioner, Suzanne is able to diagnose, evaluate, and manage acute and chronic illness and disease. She has received additional specialized training in gastroenterology, hepatology, Capsule Endoscopy, hematology, and oncology. Her scope of practice includes ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, referring to other specialists, and performing minor procedures. Suzanne is now in a collaborative practice with Dr. Seema A. Dar, FACG.
