Located at Highway 78 and FM 544, the new ED in Wylie will be staffed by board certified emergency medicine physicians and registered nurses, who provide the same high level of care found at the Lake Pointe Medical Center (LPMC) ED. And with Primary Stroke Center Certification, the new ED is ready for just about any emergency imaginable. All staff members are specially trained to care for children and adults using a systematic and multidisciplinary approach to patient care that allows physicians to reduce the time to treatment during the early stages of an emergent injury, heart attack or stroke, when treatments are most effective. For patients with an acute stroke, the team consults with highly trained neurologists through Specialists on Call, an advanced telecommunications system referred to as telemedicine, that provides 24/7 access to stroke consultation support.
The new Imaging Center will offer comprehensive diagnostic imaging services to diagnose a wide range of medical conditions and injuries. Computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), digital mammography, X-ray, ultrasound and bone densitometry services as well as laboratory services are available for emergent and outpatient diagnostic testing needs at the new center. The Imaging Center includes a dedicated waiting area with modern, comfortable accommodations.

Additionally, since the ED and Imaging Center are affiliated with LPMC, patients will receive the same in-network benefit coverage from health insurance plans as they would if they were visiting the hospital. LPHN is in-network with more than 50 major health insurance plans to help patients focus on getting back to healthy.
