Emerging Singer-Songwriter Sarah Belitz Releases New CD Titled “Whatever You Believe”

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 11, 2013 - [Great Barrington, Massachusetts]  Up and coming singer/songwriter Sarah Belitz, out of Western Massachusetts, recently announced the release of her debut full length CD “Whatever You Believe”.  The new record was produced with Robby Baier (founder of rock band Melodrome), and is a collection of beautifully written and performed emotive songs that come from Sarah’s personal experiences and observations.

The CD demonstrates a variety of genres with definite crossover capability, and is clearly a unique combination of folk, pop, and indie music.  The influences on this innovative new record are relatively easy to discern, with many fans and music critics likening her vocals to that of the great Joni Mitchell.

The title track from the CD, “Whatever You Believe” speaks about acceptance and understanding for all, regardless of religious belief, social class, or sexual orientation.  The track showcases Sarah’s voice and her classical training can be heard throughout her vocal tone and phrasing.

“Dear Daddy,” she sings, “time is not a toy you can play with, it’s the thoughts you grow gray with.” This song from the CD, written about her autistic father, shows off her ability to put her heartbreaks and stumbles into song in a personal way that helps her reach out and connect with her audience.

Track #7, “He Needs Me”, is a heartfelt song about domestic abuse, and is inspired by Sarah’s own experiences in an abusive relationship in 2009, which forced her to leave Nashville, Tennessee where she had moved to pursue her music. “He needs me is not a reason to stay, though you use it every day”, she sings.
