Acme Industrial Company, a subsidiary of Jergens, Inc., has announced that its standard precision bushings can now be purchased via a new e-commerce portal found on its website, www.acmeindustrial.com. Nearly 5,000 ANSI Standard drill bushings and almost 8,000 Acme Standard drill bushings in inch sizes are included. Approximately 2,000 ANSI Standard metric drill bushings are also available. Type P, H, SF, L, and HL are offered in inch, and types PM, HM, SFM as well as Plain Liners (PM) and Head Liners (HM) are offered in metric sizes.
Acme Industrial’s drill bushings are produced using a “no-counterbore”
design, which supports the tool for the entire length of the bushing. This produces more precise holes as well as extends bushing life compared to traditionally-
counterbored bushings. No-counterbore drill bushings are more difficult and expensive to produce due to close tolerances having to be met for the full length of the bushing. However, Acme bushings are competitively priced even with their precision manufacture. Although no-counterbore bushings are standard to Acme, counterbored bushings can be supplied by special request.
Acme Industrial Company manufactures nearly every type of bushing necessary for the metalworking industry, including liners, extended range, extra-thinwall, embedment, oil groove, gun drill and tool holder. Acme’s bushings are also used as rollers, sleeves, bearings, etc in many industrial applications. The company, which was founded in 1914, has made drill bushings its entire life. Additionally, it is a major manufacturer of keylocking threaded inserts, keylocking studs, and Swage-Sert® thinwall threaded inserts. Its products are specified throughout industry, including aerospace and military applications. The company has an ISO 9001:2008 registered quality system.
