Power Direct Energy Names Susan Komornik Vice President of Business Development

Jan. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Newport Beach, CA – Power Direct has announced the appointment of 25-year management veteran Susan Komornik to the position of vice president of business development for the company’s Energy Efficiency Solutions division.   The announcement was made by Power Direct COO Stuart Hayden.

Komornik joins Power Direct from the Cadmus Group and brings a unique background to energy efficiency programs and marketing.  As a Cadmus consultant to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), she developed strong working relationships with major retailers, providing them with ENERGY STAR® marketing support and content for Web, print and advertising.  Since 2009, Komornik has managed utility programs including the launch of the unique statewide efficiency program for the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility, and in 2010 led the Massachusetts Statewide Customer Education Initiative.    The success and innovation of that campaign resulted in the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) recognizing the sponsors and marketing team with the Outstanding Achievement in Marketing and Communications award.  In 2010-11, Komornik led a team in developing the marketing, website, and advertising for the Delmarva Power Smart Meter Customer Education campaign.  

During her 25 years with retailer Sears, one of her many leadership roles included project manager for the Sears Home Appliance department at the company’s Illinois headquarters.  

Working with the EPA, Department of Energy (DOE), utilities and efficiency groups nationwide, she was responsible for promoting the voluntary ENERGY STAR® programs during the three consecutive years when Sears was awarded EPA’s ENERGY STAR Retail Partner of the Year. She also developed and coordinated co-branding, marketing and incentive programs for appliances and HVAC including trade and associate training, quality installations and recycling projects with utilities and manufacturers. Komornik holds a bachelor’s degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
