By: Conscious Music Entertainment Milliea McKinney, is an award winning songwriter, whose reputation in music speaks for itself. However McKinney, has chosen to share her voice with other's to educate how the power of lyrics relate to music and then sets the course for our society. Today our youth are confused. Living with choices they are not educated in nor, are they prepared for says, McKinney. Our music is made up of subjects that paint graphic, violent, and sexual in content material. Our youth are sexually active they use language that has power graphic and violent in nature. So as a society we have put a 'stamp of approval', on their behavior which may explain why our schools have so much violence in them. Our youth are being jailed as well as becoming parents themselves way before they are ready. In return for these seeds being planted our society now holds the responsibility of all the troubled youth and still very few want to stand up and be the voice of change. So many times we have heard leaders and representatives make promises and feed us 'society', what we need to hear to feel comfortable in our own skin. Thinking we have made a difference. But the truth is we justify what we don't want to hear or take action on. Compassion is a natural human instinct yet we as society have learned to turn it off to prevent having to do the right thing say's, McKinney. My Company Conscious Music Entertainment, was designed to bring that awareness to those in the industry who influence music lyrics, and society to use caution when creating their songs for youth. Youth look up to and are impacted by those who are famous, who are popular, and who are in the here and now. The painful vision of a child singing the lyrics of violent and graphic song material should never be "cool". Protecting the innocence of our young should always be "priority"! No excuses, ever. So now I ask all those who feel the need of change to stand up and use their voice and say enough is enough! Our children matter and represent us and our future... So where are the hero's? End
