CFMI Inaugural Fudraiser to be held March 10th, 2013

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 10, 2013 - Christian Fellowship for the Mentally  Ill, better known as CFMI, is a 501 (c)(3) organization under Logos Global Network’s Group Exemption Covering . CFMI, is a newly-founded Christian organization devoted to supporting the mentally ill through our faith based programs. CFMI’s mission is to affect the lives of the millions suffering from mental illness, through a positive healing process involving God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to become the largest network for mentally ill Christians and Non-Christians alike, seeking support and healing through the teachings of Jesus Christ

Founded by Ryan Gilmore and Theresa Bennett, we began operations in October of 2012. Ryan Gilmore, who is currently attending Appalachian Bible College, is a devout Christian and has a business background with six years in the government contracting industry. Theresa Bennett, is currently attending Givens Bible College in Washington, D.C., and has a background in ministry.
We are managed and operated by Ryan Gilmore, Theresa Bennett, and Kevin Hardy. Kevin Hardy, is our Director of Mobile Ministry and has his B.A. in Theology from Columbia University.  Our Board of Directors is comprised of Ryan Gilmore, Executive Director of CFMI, Tom Gilmore, Entrepreneur, Douglas Cook, Executive Vice President of the Council of Churches of Greater Washington, and Jeni Stephens of JL Stephens Non-Profit Consulting.

CFMI is currently planning its inaugural fundraiser on March 10th, 2013 at the Avenue Suites in Washington, D.C. from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 pm. Guest speakers will include former NFL Denver Bronco, Steve Fitzhugh, and current UFC fighter Dustin Pague. With the funds raised from the inaugural fundraiser, CFMI plans to begin its grant program, which gives grant money to families dealing with mental illness and who are in need of financial support.
