“This is a really great offer and one that will end when the grant monies run out,” says DHA’s Executive Director Patrick Carroll. “Spaying and neutering is a safe and simple procedure that helps pets live longer, healthier lives. We really want to see cat owners in 19801 take advantage of DHA’s Close to Home Spay/Neuter Program to help reduce pet overpopulation as well as the number of homeless animals in our community.”
In addition, free rabies vaccinations will be given to any cat participating in the program whose caretaker is unable to provide a current, valid rabies vaccination certificate. Additional services such as distemper vaccinations, FIV/FeLV testing, and microchipping are not included, but are available at DHA’s regular affordable rates.
DHA also offers a regular Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program for both cats and dogs that is open to anyone.
Spay/neuter surgery at DHA is available three days a week by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (302) 571-0111 or (888) DHA-SPAY. All surgeries at DHA are performed under general anesthesia by a licensed veterinarian.
