Free eWaste Recycling Event Planned To Benefit Rancho Family YMCALocally-based eWaste recycler Recycle San Diego and the Rancho Family YMCA have partnered to host an eWaste Event on January 19, 2013 from 10am-2pm at 9410 Fairgrove Lane, San Diego, CA 92129.
Jeffrey Harding, the Founder and President of Recycle San Diego, states “Because of ever-increasing technological advancement, many electronic products become obsolete within a very short period of time, creating a large surplus of unwanted electronic waste, or “e-Waste.” To avoid these environmental risks Harding suggests that people join their local community of environmentally- Items that can be recycled include: computers, monitors, TVs, laptops, cables, printers, fax machines, scanners, DVD players, VCRs, and other electronic items. Recycle San Diego wishes to remind the public that it is illegal to dispose of e-Waste in the trash and California requires that companies recycle their e-Waste. California currently has the most comprehensive landfill ban in the nation, curbing both the illegal disposal and export of the largest category of toxic electronics which includes CRT TVs and computer monitors.
