Fellow lead Laura Muschelli agreed with Campbell, “”I think that the test of a good pilot is how well the characters are introduced, and episode one passes the test with flying colors. It’s a really fun intro into the lives and personalities of the main characters of the show.”

After a successful limited release screening in the production’s hometown of Washington, D.C., where “Confab” was called “really funny” and “really entertaining”
But lead actor Joshua Dick was quick to point out that “Confab” was unlike other webseries, “We didn’t stop once during the first take of the opening scene, a seven minute scene we had not rehearsed on set. You don’t get that often filming a webseries.”
“During the ensuing rush to memorize those lines and set up that scene you could really see the caliber of the people working on this project both in front of and behind the camera,” added Campbell.
Muschelli also fondly remembered shooting the episode, “I love that props actually made ice soap for this episode! If you don’t know what that is, you’ll have to watch, but there was a point where we all stared at the soapy mess on Christian’s arm and knew exactly why ice soap was not a great idea!”
Dick laughed, “It was a fun episode to film because we never left the hangout (the primary location for the series). The four of us got to hang out between takes, and we were able to find a rhythm and momentum in the scene that isn’t always easy to get filming short takes.”
“Confab” follows everyman Milo (Dick), armchair philosopher Floze (Campbell), coffee shop hipster Deb (Muschelli) and reluctant sorority sister Sandy (Caroline O’Grady), as they meet every day in the same place on campus. Their lives intersect in this small section of the Union where they confabulate over the novelties of the day. Throughout the series they find themselves wrapped up with the campus freegan, a rogue RA with nothing to lose, the college LARP club, a World War 2 enthusiast sorority sister, their doggelgangers, the tyranny of a fast food chain and much more.
Created by Erik Cieslewicz and produced by Ali Walton, Kevin Finkelstein and Paul Schadd, “Confab” is a Frozen Penguin Productions, LLC project. For more information visit the show’s web-site: http://watchconfab.com
