Jan. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Class Action Lawyer Network has launched a GranuFlo and Naturalyte Helpline for families of victims injured or killed during dialysis treatment. http://classactionlawyernetwork.com/class-action/motion-f... According to the medical social worker, "We are concerned about seniors who have used this medication as part of their dialysis treatments. These medications have caused immediate hear attacks and death due to an imbalance in the mixture. The helpline is here for children, and families of the victims. There has been a Class 1 recall for GranuFlo and Naturalyte. Dialysis patients on GranuFlo and NaturaLyte are up to six times more likely to suffer cardiopulmonary arrest and sudden cardiac death, prompting an emergency recall of GranuFlo and NaturaLyte by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in June 2012."

The helpline urges families to, "Contact us to discuss the GranuFlo and NaturaLyte lawsuits." http://classactionlawyernetwork.com/granuflo-naturalyte-l... The helpline representatives want you to know that "The  FDA  has recently declared a Class I recall of Fresenius Medical Care’s GranuFlo and NaturaLyte dialysis products. After an internal Fresenius memo was leaked to the FDA, the company warned its customers that the products have been linked to elevated bicarbonate levels, a contributing factor in cardiac arrest. These products can lead to a high serum bicarbonate level in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This may contribute to metabolic alkalosis, which is a significant risk factor associated with low blood pressure, hypokalemia, hypoxemia, hypercapnia and cardiac arrhythmia, which, if not appropriately treated, may culminate in cardiopulmonary arrest. This product may cause serious adverse health consequences, including death." http://classactionlawyernetwork.com/class-action/granuflo... The Dialysis Medication Helpline is open 24hrs, 7 days to offer support and guidance in this time of loss for families of GranuFlo or Naturalyte victims
