Connected directly via USB, the DAC-V1 eliminates jitter to optimise the sound. The unit creates a perfect high-end music system when coupled with the NAP 100 power amplifier and speakers. Or, if the user does most of their listening through headphones – as Naim’s research suggests is increasingly the case – the DAC-V1 houses a high quality headphone amplifier for direct connection through its front panel. So, the user can enjoy high quality sound whilst working at a computer without the need for a power amplifier or loudspeakers. The DAC-V1 will retail at £1,250 and the NAP 100 at £650. Both products are due to enter production in late February.
Computer-based audio is a significant part of modern music listening habits. Many music lovers store and stream their music collection from computer hard drives or online music service providers. The compressed nature of these files can lessen the quality of the audio, but the DAC-V1 allows for top quality sound without losing the convenience and ease of accessing and playing digital music. Compact in size at just 20cm wide, the unit fits perfectly on a desktop.
Beyond music, the DAC-V1 has five digital inputs perfect for connecting games consoles, TVs, set-top boxes and DVD players to improve the sound produced by these devices and bring high-end, Naim-quality sound to all aspects of home-entertainment.
In addition to the DAC-V1 and NAP 100, Naim will also be showcasing its latest all-in-one audio player, UnitiLite, at CES 2013. The compact, high-performance audio player went on sale last month and has been awarded a prestigious CES 2013 Innovations Award in the High Performance Home Audio category, granting it special status at the show. Featuring high-resolution digital streaming, internet radio, CD player and iPod/iPhone/

About Naim Audio
Naim has a passionate and committed interest in music. This is as true today as it was at the time of the company's formation in Salisbury, England, over 35 years ago. Enjoyment of music has driven Naim to design and manufacture the finest range of audio equipment available. Top engineering principles ensure that all Naim products meet and exceed the measurable parameters essential for state-of-the-
Naim quality requires an attention to detail verging on the obsessive: a special and unique approach to component selection and system design, all within a highly specialised production environment. Every aspect of a Naim product’s design has been considered for its impact on sound quality. Even small, seemingly insignificant, production techniques are used, because of the difference they make between delivering a great and an amazing sound.
Naim's toughest critics are its management and its employees. They have always believed that being honest is the only way to communicate with their customers - music lovers and numerous musicians - who regard Naim's products as having no equals in their respective classes.
Naim does not chase market fashion and will not move from its overriding objective of achieving consistent musical performance. The company has its own record label, Naim Label, which specialises in high-quality music recordings, and has moved steadily into the world of audio streaming, multi-room and in-car audio, introducing the award-winning NaimUniti all-in-one audio player and a range of multi-room audio products: NaimNet, designed to bring new customers to the Naim fold without sacrificing Naim's legendary performance. Naim also announced an exclusive partnership with Bentley Motors in 2008, with the launch of the Naim for Bentley Premium Audio System, which is available across all Bentley models.
