Industry Veteran Al Hubbs Offers Popular Improv Class In Melbourne

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 9, 2013 - MELBOURNE, Fla. –Space Coast Films, in association with Intimate Images ®, is pleased to bring the crowd-pleasing improvisation acting class by Al Hubbs to Melbourne, Florida, beginning on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

The eight-week improvisation class will guide students through essential exercises, resulting in practical skills to use throughout their acting careers. Class exercises and instructions include:

•   One Minute Speeches
•   Character Conflicts
•   One and Two-Person Improvisations
•   Contrasting Objectives, Obstacles, Props, Dialogue
•   Creating Emotional Characters
•   Improvisational Monologues
•   Creating and Using Emotional and Umbrella Arcs

“Whether going after theatre, film, television, commercials—it all requires improvisation of some kind. Actors need to be well-versed in this skill to entertain a long-term career in this business,” said Hubbs. “I am very passionate about helping my students reach the next level in their acting careers.”

About Al Hubbs
As a working actor for over 30 years in Toronto, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles, Canadian-born Al Hubbs has been very active in the industry. Trained by instructors from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), he served three terms on the board for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in Hollywood, California, where he continues to serve as a trustee. He is a member of the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association and served as president of the Orlando chapter in 1990 and president for Florida in 1993. Performing all over the globe in hundreds of stage, film and television productions, Hubbs has also been featured in several commercials and stand-up comedy routines. After relocating to Orlando in 1985, Hubbs began teaching, writing scripts and working with local video production companies on various projects. He continues to work in film and television while teaching.
