Cruise Passengers now have a free island guide when visting Barbados!

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 8, 2013 - In December 2012, iLandGuide Barbados installed a large 9 foot by 5 foot floor sign in the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal, Barbados to inform passengers about the iLandGuide app that cruise passengers can download when visiting Barbados. This interactive floor sign features QR codes that can be scanned by any Apple or Android device so that travelers can use the free Wi-Fi in the terminal to download the app. The app can also be downloaded by visiting www.ilandguide.com.

This app is completely free and includes an events calendar, currency converter, list of special promotions and a free GPS map that can direct you to beaches, restaurants, shopping centers, sightseeing points, or anything else on the island that may be of interest to short stay visitors.  The app is ideal for short stay and long term visitors to Barbados who want to explore all that the island has to offer.

The free travel guide app was launched in Barbados in August 2012 and features more than 250 different places of interest. On a small but densely populated island such as Barbados, paper maps are not able to show sufficient detail to prevent visitors from getting lost and this is why an offline app is so valuable. It is a common site to see visitors parked alongside a highway struggling to figure out their location but with the app and it's built in GPS, this will be a thing of the past.
