Diabetes & Style Demand Growing Rapidly

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 8, 2013 - Style is no longer an option it’s a necessity for a growing population of people with diabetes. It used to be that you would get a black nylon case for your meter and just live with it. Today’s savvy diabetes community is demanding more function paired with fabulous style.   Since 2007 Stick Me Designs has been on the forefront of bringing together style and function to the daily testing rituals for people with diabetes all across the globe.

Every year more gadgets make their way to retail shelves, with stylish cool accessories to pair with. Only in the last several years have some diabetic meter companies and supplier taken note. This has led many to ask: “what are you waiting for? Give us style with our supplies and accessories”  

Stick Me Designs has been listening and answering this demand since its launch almost 6 years ago. Created with function in mind, and always with style Stick Me Designs began out of the personal need of mother and Navy Senior Chief wife Rickina Velte. Velte was diagnosed with gestational diabetes while pregnant with her second son, and couldn’t find an upbeat yet modern diabetes supply case.

Velte then designed a carrying case of her own and asked the community what they thought. The response was without a question positive. The demand for stylish diabetes accessories was clearly there, and since then Velte has been on the pulse of the community continuously striving to give the community what they want and need in diabetic accessories.  Velte is quoted saying “our diabetes bags not only lift up morale about diabetes, but encourage the community to engage others with honest and real conversations…it’s something that our designs are known to do very well”  

While a great bag won’t cure diabetes, it can go a long way toward self-esteem and a better sense of still being who you are despite diabetes
