If you decide you like it, and want to sign up, the registration is only $30 for 8 weeks. The instructor is Owen Johnston, a certified instructor with a black belt in Heiwado Karate, and over 10 years of experience in martial arts. Short Profile on Owen Johnston -
I am a freelance karate instructor and personal fitness trainer. I am a native of Lake City, SC and martial arts are my way of life. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I have been actively training in the martial arts since June 10th, 2002, when I enrolled at the Nippon Kokusai Karate Center (NKKC) location in Lake City, SC. I took over management of this location in January 2004, and obtained the rank of shodan (first degree black belt) in October of that year. NKKC is affiliated with Japan International Karate Center (JIKC).
Current Affiliations, Experience, and Qualifications
- Hold a Black belt in Heiwado karate
- Have been formally teaching martial arts since 2004
- Have offered my services as a freelance karate instructor as of November 2012
- Experience in running martial arts training camps
- Experience in boxing and various other styles
- Experience in many different types of physical fitness training and exercises
- Have helped 100s of students learn how to defend themselves, improve self confidence, and improve their personal fitness
- Studying for certification as a personal fitness trainer through ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association)
- Certified Instructor under International Fighting Arts Federation
