According to Swesky, “Mike and I have designed our chapter to be fairly dynamic in nature, but at times we have speakers who present on specific topics related to writing, publishing or marketing. We encourage the input of our members on what they want the group to be. If you’re already an accomplished writer, you’ll meet new colleagues and develop valuable contacts."
Membership in the Florida Writers’ Association is not required to be part of the local chapter meetings. But the FWA does offer some great resources and opportunities to get published and participate in writing competitions – a great thing to add to your résumé. With a motto of “writers helping writers,” members find a variety of benefits, including quarterly issues of The Florida Writer Magazine, monthly issues of FWA eNews, a link to your website, access to online discussion forums, reduced ad rates in The Florida Writer Magazine and more. Special rates for conference attendance and workshops also apply. Visit www.floridawriters.net
