Florida Writers' Association/Palm Coast welcomes new members in 2013

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 8, 2013 - The Florida Writers Association, Palm Coast chapter, is open to all aspiring writers and welcomes new members to their group in 2013. Under the energetic leadership of Jeff Swesky and Mike King, both published authors, local writers will find confidence and a way to exchange ideas with others that share their passion as members explore the world of writing. There is no cost associated with participation and the local chapter welcomes writers and editors at all levels and promotes inspiration and encouragement. A critique group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. at Watson Realty, 1410 Palm Coast Parkway NW in Palm Coast with a general meeting on the 4th Saturday at the same location and time.

According to Swesky, “Mike and I have designed our chapter to be fairly dynamic in nature, but at times we have speakers who present on specific topics related to writing, publishing or marketing. We encourage the input of our members on what they want the group to be. If you’re already an accomplished writer, you’ll meet new colleagues and develop valuable contacts."

Membership in the Florida Writers’ Association is not required to be part of the local chapter meetings. But the FWA does offer some great resources and opportunities to get published and participate in writing competitions – a great thing to add to your résumé. With a motto of “writers helping writers,” members find a variety of benefits, including quarterly issues of The Florida Writer Magazine, monthly issues of FWA eNews, a link to your website, access to online discussion forums, reduced ad rates in The Florida Writer Magazine and more.
