Jan. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Jan. 8, 2013 Eagan, MN- GuideK12 is thrilled to announce that it is one of six companies selected by The National School Boards Association (NSBA), for its first Technology Innovation Showcase.  The NSBA is looking to play a more active role in connecting innovative companies with district decision makers; their first Technology Innovation Showcase will be the spark to ignite that flame.

GuideK12 enables education decision makers to instantly filter and analyze school district data by adding a geographic and visual dimension to their student and community information.  By visualizing information on a map, decisions on everything from analyzing boundary changes, mapping student performance, managing enrollment shifts, tracking school choice, and optimizing district resources can be more effective and efficient.

“The Technology Innovation Showcase was created to highlight emerging companies that represent the diversity of new solutions in education,” said Ann Flynn, NSBA’s Director of Education Technology and State Association Services.

The selected companies will be featured by NSBA in an exclusive Innovation Showcase Pavilion and Showcase session during the NSBA Annual Conference in San Diego, April 13-15, 2013, which will allow each to tell their story to conference attendees. In addition, GuideK12 along with the other 5 companies will be featured in NSBA’s magazine for school leaders, American School Board Journal.  In addition, all six companies will be highlighted through webinars and white papers designed for districts active in NSBA’s Technology Leadership Network to gain knowledge of what each has to offer.

“The education market sector is experiencing rapid growth from investors and creative entrepreneurs, yet few of the nation’s 90,000 board members and their school districts are fully aware of the innovations enabled by technology that can transform old practices,” said Flynn. “NSBA wants to be a bridge between the entrepreneurial community and the nation’s decision-makers by encouraging districts to embrace a culture of innovation that is open to new approaches and looks to the Showcase examples as a way to ignite those conversations.”

“We are honored to be selected by the NSBA for the first annual Technology Innovation Showcase.  Our product fosters transparent communication and facilitates trust between stakeholders on important district decisions.  From small districts to very large, including entire state departments of education, GuideK12 is liberating data for more informed decision-making,” comments GuideK12 CEO Chuck Amos.  He continues, “As a state-of-the art technology solution, we are pushing the envelope daily to deliver even more robust insights to our customers. We look forward to getting involved and spending more time with NSBA members in April at the annual conference.”
