Topics examined in the report include; the key emerging global markets, global procurement requirements, and the key challenges facing armoured vehicle manufacturers over the next decade, armoured vehicle design requirements, and the enduring impact of the economic crisis.
“The perception of the IED as the key future threat was one of the more contentious issues to come out of this year’s report,” said Andrew Elwell, Editor, Defence IQ. “While fewer respondents believe it to be a critical threat compared to the data we collected for last year’s report, it’s clear that the IED threat will endure and continue to be a priority for governments and industry. Aside to the threat landscape, which is explored in great detail this year, we also took a more detailed look at global markets and potential opportunities. India has again been identified as the primary growth market globally by some margin. However, nascent markets such as Brazil and those in the Middle East are certainly beginning to close that gap.”
The 33-page report has been coordinated with the forthcoming International Armoured Vehicles 2013 conference and exhibition, which is set to take place in February in Farnborough, UK.
