The ‘Quest’ commences at an undisclosed location, where wooden planks with holes are utilized to decode the map’s clues. They reveal La Jolla’s numerous geographic features such as landmarks and hinterland orientations. The holes within the planks must line up perfectly in order to know where each participant has to route next. The treasure map is written entirely in Spanish due to the fact that it falls within historical context of the founding of San Diego. One more aspect which adds realism is La Jolla’s beautiful scenery and complimenting colonial architecture. It truly adds to the experience.
“Your Treasure Island Quest was a unique and exciting way to celebrate our daughter's birthday! The scenic La Jolla Cove shoreline provided an amazing outdoor adventure filled with seals, dolphins, caves, and lots of sunshine! The culmination of finding a realistic treasure chest in the cave made it thrilling, not only for the kids who participated, but for the parents as well. It was also refreshing to see the kids physically involved with nature, getting exercise, and thinking through the clues vice playing a treasure hunt video game. We all felt like real-deal treasure hunters. Thanks again!” ~Marla

Another catering are school field trips: The ‘Quest’ can be tailored to an educational aspect of San Diego’s founding history, local marine life, natural science, and can allow students to hone their thinking/analytical skills via navigation and the decoding of the treasure map/planks.
