Jan. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- January 7, 2013 - No other piece of legislation in the past decade impacts businesses more than the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) enacted in 2010. With implementation already underway, the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA) recently launched Health Care Reform Connect™, a new service to help members navigate the complex world of PPACA implementation.

“Being acutely aware that the law requires employers to comply with new reporting requirements such as W-2 wage and benefits rules and providing benefits documentation to employees at the same time it levies tax penalties, tax credits and other provisions, we decided our members would benefit from having one place to access the expert information they need about the new law,” said Jennifer Kluge, MBPA President and CEO.

Kluge explained that the new service includes the latest information from expert attorneys, CPAs and reform advisors, updates on each new development as state officials make decisions about Michigan’s implementation of the new law’s provisions and a vast array of tools and resources that not only offer solutions, but also assist with decision making.

In addition to the ongoing website services, MBPA issues a monthly Health Care Reform Connect™ member e-newsletter that highlights the latest information along with links to additional tools, resources, customized information and expertise. While anyone can view the general information posted, members have access to helpful compliance tools and services reserved especially for them, such as a comprehensive eight-year implementation timeline.

“To assure that our members have everything they need throughout the PPACA implementation, our MBPA team is available to research and provide custom answers to specific compliance questions through our member email hotline.” Kluge concluded.
