Jan. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- The global reliance on computers, networks and systems has never been higher and continues to grow. As our dependency grows so do the threats that target our military’s Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, as well as the operational components and electronic controls for our critical infrastructure.  Over the past decade we have experienced a substantial rise in the complexity and sophistication of cyber attacks, as well as a frightening increase in the impact of some of the attacks. A recent report by cyber security icon McAfee stated "Nation states and armies will be more frequent actors and victims of cyberthreats."  Government and military leaders now face this reality and our critical systems and infrastructure remain at great risk!  For that reason Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and several others have recently warned about the threats the country faces in cyber space.

This growing risk has made the ability to defend these critical systems and a direct cyber attacks both core capabilities that are required for a modern military. In the age of cyber conflict government and military leaders, as well as executives of  critical infrastructure providers, need an up-to-date understand of the weapons and strategies used to wage in this rapidly evolving type of attack.
