Ayesha Chen McKeever, Chairman, DIAC, said, “It is a remarkable day of fun and art when we open our doors to public to showcase our wide range of activities and provide information about the upcoming classes during the new term which will commence on January 19, 2013. With more than 70 courses on offer, the Dubai International Art Centre provides people the perfect opportunity to develop their creative skills. The best part of the experience during the Open House is meeting people from curious art lovers including families and children to art professionals and art collectors”.
On the day, a series of art demonstrations will be organised where people will be able to interact closely with the teachers / artists while at work as well as try their hand at their favourite craft. Ayesha stressed, “Sharing the intimacy of the place where the artists work always feels very special, not only for artists but also for the visitors”.
More than 20 painters, sculptors, illustrators, jewellery makers, potters and fiber artists will open their studios to the public where they can rekindle their creative spark. The following workshops have been scheduled for the day. Prior registration is necessary to attend.
• 10am – 12pm: Sculpture, Mosaic, Water Colours, Pattern Drafting & Sewing and Spanish
