FastMed Acquires Sports Medicine Express

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 4, 2013 - Gilbert, AZ – January 4, 2013 – FastMed Urgent Care today announced the acquisition of Sports Medicine Express.  The practice was owned and cofounded by Matthew Shores, M.D., who will remain with FastMed to provide specialized sports medicine treatments, including injury care for sprains and broken bones, X-rays, sports physicals and other sports-related medical treatments to athletes, teams and coaches.

“There are quite a few sports programs in the Scottsdale and Chandler community, so there was a significant need for these services,” said FastMed President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Blank. “Dr. Shores has kept teams healthy and on the field for years and we’re all thrilled to welcome him to the FastMed family.”

As the new year begins, FastMed will be reaching out to area schools and other athletic programs throughout the Scottsdale and Chandler communities to talk about how its new specialized sports medicine practice can support them.  FastMed also plans a marketing campaign to make the general community aware of the new sports medicine program.
