Knowledge Bennett Gallery Announces Upcoming Exhibition 'H.N.I.C,' Head Notable In Charge

Jan. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- KNOWLEDGE BENNETT GALLERY is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition, H.N.I.C., Head Notable In Charge, Knowledge Bennett's pop interpretation of President Barack Obama. On January 26, 2013, Bennett will unveil a number of large scale mixed media works on canvas and limited edition prints featuring President Barack Obama. These appropriated pop art paintings are contemporary interpretations of Warhol’s Elvis, a series derived from a publicity still of Presley for the 1960 film Flaming Star, in which the singer-actor portrayed a half-white, half-Native American struggling between two cultures.

Dictionary.com defines a notable as a noun reserved for a prominent, distinguished, or important person, a definition Bennett feels describes our 44th President, Barack Obama. Bennett, an emerging notable himself, successfully exhibited a number of works from the H.N.I.C. series during Miami Art Basel 2012, a few of which will remain up for a second showing in Miami on January 12, 2013.
