Jan. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- When great people and organizations come together for an important cause anything is possible and the extraordinary happens.

The Drew Pearson Show with host Drew Pearson put together an all-star lineup of celebrities and sports heroes at Dodge City of McKinney helping grant a special wish for a very special child.  For 12 hours, Drew Pearson worked the crowd with stories of his Cowboy days, and spent time shaking hands and meeting fans.  He was truly loved by all.  “Mr. Pearson signed my football, and let me wear his Super Bowl Ring!” said an ecstatic 11 year old Joseph Schaefer of Rockwall, Texas.  Pearson seemed like an old friend to every guest who attended the celebration.

However, the real star of the Wish-A-Thon was the 10 year old boy, Emmanuel, who was awarded the first wish of 2013 sending him and his family to Disney World.

“We have an opportunity to make a difference in the world, and all of us were proud to be part of something so special” stated Jim Proctor, General Manager of Dodge City of McKinney.  “I am thankful for having an organization like Make-A-Wish Foundation to help facilitate such events as well as so many great partners who dedicated their time and donations to help make this year’s Wish-A-Thon such a success.”

Drew Pearson spent the day recording “The Drew Pearson Show” interviewing the celebrities individually providing great entertainment for the public.  A few of his guest who joined the celebration were rock band Midnight Empire, current Dallas Cowboys Brandon Carr, former NFL safety Damien Robinson, Dallas Cowboys alum John Jay Saldi and Kevin Brooks, Latina artist Mayra Leal, current Texas Wesleyan University baseball coach and former Texas Ranger pitcher Mike Jeffcoat, 1987 Heisman Trophy Winner Tim Brown, and Dallas Cowboy Hall of Famer Randy White.

When Drew Pearson asked Randy White what he was involved in today, he proudly talked about the upcoming post-season college football all-star game that was established in 2006 on February 2nd, 2013 at Allan High School, called Texas vs. the Nation.  Each team consists of approximately 54 draft eligible players, representing Div I, II and III college football teams, from all over America.

During Heisman Trophy Winner Tim Brown’s interview, Brown talked about his past NFL experiences and current roll with the Texas revolution of the Indoor Football League that plays at the Allen Event Center where Dodge City of McKinney is a proud sponsor.
