2012 At Highgate House With Sundial

Jan. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- 2012 has been a year to remember at Highgate House, the gold standard Northamptonshire conference hotel and meeting venue from Sundial Group, with a plethora of exciting events taking place to great acclaim. The Midlands conference venue has been host to dozens of special events, from weddings to charity fundraisers, and has also come away with a clutch of awards celebrating the fantastic venue and all the services it provides.  

One of the most thrilling and unforgettable events that took place at Highgate House this year was the special fundraising dinner held by the Thames Valley Police. The event featured the appearance of two original James Bond Aston Martins, helping to make the evening a roaring success. Drinks were shaken, not stirred, and 160 guests helped to raise money for various charities, including the children’s wing of Northampton General Hospital.

Carefree Northants also held a wonderful charity day at Brampton Health Golf Course, with teams from Sundial Group’s marketing department and Highgate House staff on hand to ensure the event ran smoothly. The Sundial Group ‘Chudbus’ was also present at the event in a show of support for the charity, providing all golfers with Pimms, strawberries and chocolate.

2012 was also the year which saw the Midlands meeting venue take great leaps in their quest to become one of the best value for money conference venues in the country. Not only did Sundial Group win the ‘Best Value for Money’ Meeting Venue Group award in BDRC Continental’s ‘VenueVerdict’ Survey, but Highgate House itself was also awarded two bronze accreditations at the M&IT Industry Awards; it gained the awards for being the Best Value for Money Venue and the Best UK Management Training Centre.

Food has always been at the forefront of Highgate House’s appeal, and their culinary prowess was given a further boost in 2012 with the arrival of Leighanne Harrison, winner of the Young Chef of the Year title at the Carlsberg UK Food and Drink Awards. Leighanne joined Head Chef Lee Gaskins, who also won Chef of the Year at the same ceremony. The impressive menu created by Lee for National Vegetarian Week also garnered much attention this year, and he and the entire kitchen team won a Local Organisation Hero Award as a result of their efforts.

58 weddings were held across the course of the year at Highgate House – more than one per week – and all three of Sundial’s country house venues received TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence in 2012. The awards came as a result of incredibly positive reviews from visitors and those who have used the venues for their events, setting store by the claim that Highgate House is one of the best conference and leisure venues in the country.
