Follow on Google News | A Brand New Airbag System Debuts in the 2013 Chevy CruzeChevrolet introduces groundbreaking air bag system to the 2013 Cruze, upgrading the safety features of an already award-winning model.
By: Cox Chevrolet At the 2012 New York Auto Show, Chevrolet unveiled their newest and most impressive feat yet in automotive safety precautions: The common method of air bag inflation was a standard affair: each bag would have two separate inflators that would handle either low speed or high speed impacts exclusively. With such a system based on the exclusivity, there is then the chance of the high-velocity inflator firing during an impact that didn’t necessarily require it, or vice versa. The newer system is a modular one, however. Thanks to its flexibility, it only requires the one low-impact inflator to handle collisions at any velocity. What this means is that there’s less chance of inflation induced injuries, since the force of the body moving forward will help disperse the airbag efficiently no matter what the speed. The extra engineering pays off, as the result is one of the highest rated safety picks on the market in 2013. When shopping for a car, a major deciding factor tends to be the safety rating, and Chevrolet sells cars with peace of mind attached. Chevrolet’s 2013 full line-up is now available at Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton, FL.
