Abdul Latif and D~Squared Dance Theater #D2DT, welcomes you to the Lincoln Center Institute campus as they reveal “20/20” for APAP|NYC 2013 as part of their NEXT Project series. Come witness “20/20 – A Work-In-Progress production of an evening length piece that takes a look at gender confinement and social constructs within a culture. 20/20 is a ballet presented in two-parts: The Lady’s Section – entitled “BOX(ed) IN” is the all-female work exploring an experiment of the imagined existence where the woman is broken-out from behind the place of a man. The Gentlemen’s Section – called “STANDS” is the all-male ballet that observes relationships within a group of men; illustrating the struggles born out of separation from a collective. Through points out of male posturing a perspective is shared of how the - I & We coexist. APAP|NYC 2013 Performance dates are: Friday (January 11, 2013), Saturday (January 12, 2013) with show- times at 7:00p & 9:00p and Sunday (January 13, 2013) with performances @ 5:30p & 7:00p. A limited amount of $20 tickets are available for pre-sell at Brown Paper Tickets (Abdul Latif, & D~Squared Dance Theater presents '20/20' @ APAP NYC 2013!), Eventbrite (http://abdullatif2020.eventbrite.com) and may be available at the Clark Studio Theater @ Lincoln Center Institute on the day of the performances.
