Abdul Latif and D~Squared Dance Theater #D2DT, welcomes you to the Lincoln Center Institute campus as they reveal “20/20” for APAP|NYC 2013 as part of their NEXT Project series. Come witness “20/20 – A Work-In-Progress production of an evening length piece that takes a look at gender confinement and social constructs within a culture. 20/20 is a ballet presented in two-parts: The Lady’s Section – entitled “BOX(ed) IN” is the all-female work exploring an experiment of the imagined existence where the woman is broken-out from behind the place of a man. The Gentlemen’s Section – called “STANDS” is the all-male ballet that observes relationships within a group of men; illustrating the struggles born out of separation from a collective. Through points out of male posturing a perspective is shared of how the - I & We coexist.
