EVO Dining will host a celebrity chef dinner party on Monday February 4, 2013. Co-Owner and Executive Chef Albert Maykel III will prepare a lavish multi-course dinner alongside Chef Barry E. Sexton of Food Network.

Guests will enjoy wines paired and presented by Sommelier Christine Zecker of Cameron Hughes Wine.  
This dinner party is certainly a do not miss evening for true foodies looking to be wowed by these two award winning culinary masters. Chef Maykel was just crowned Worcester's Best Chef this weekend a the competition at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.

Chef Barry E. Sexton’s impressive 30 year career includes creating inside the world’s most premiere restaurants and hotels including Round Hill Hotel & Resort, Jamaica and the Zanzibar Blue, in Philadelphia. Classically trained in the culinary arts for decades under the tutelage of Master Chef Jean Pierre Tardy, Chef’s guests have included ambassadors and heads of state. His style is described as an artistic use of bold tastes, textures and color and caught the eye of the popular Food Network Show, Dinner Impossible, earning him a feature episode. Chef has been named Top Chef To Watch and is the owner of the Opinionated Palate in Philadelphia.

EVO Dining’s Executive Chef and Co-Owner, Albert Maykel III has also spent years of working in some impressive kitchens including Worcester Country Club, Pearl Oyster, and Tatnuck Country Club, he would take the helm of culinary operations in his own restaurant, opening the doors of EVO Dining in 2008 with sibling and Co- Owner, Celeste Zack. His menu at EVO is accessible and fresh, featuring an array of inventive dishes pleasing the diverse clientele they serve. While his guests enjoy a stellar menu in- house, his true talents are best reflected when cooking for private dinner engagements, fine dining cuisine, and multi-course menu tastings. It is here that Chef has the freedom to experiment and create, and where he truly shines as a culinary master.

“We decided to host this event because both Chefs were looking for ways to work together and we just knew they would create something amazing” says Celeste Zack, General Manager of EVO Dining, who will open for this private event on a Monday night when they are normally closed. “We thought that this was also a great opportunity to create awareness for a cause that we had supported earlier this summer, The UMASS Colorectal Cancer Fund. It really opened our eyes up to how preventable this type of cancer is and we wanted to do the right thing by calling attention to something that affects our health and that impacts so many.” Celeste and Albert’s brother, Dr. Justin A. Maykel, Chief, Colon and Rectal Surgery, UMass Memorial Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Surgery, University of Massachusetts Medical School, is leading the way in the fight to educate and spread awareness about Colorectal Cancer and early detection screening here in Central MA.  

Colorectal Cancer is the second most common type of cancer in men and women, affecting an estimated 150,000 people in the United States Annually.

The event’s limited seating means that less than 100 people will get to enjoy the evening which begins with cocktails at 6:30pm as the Clark University Clark Bars a capella group serenades guests as they arrive.  Sommelier Christine Zecker will also be on hand. Zecker founded Women in Wine Share your strength for Abby’s house Charity , She was Head Co-Chair and a founding organizer of Worcester’s Best Chef, and has been a Sommelier at the world renowned James Beard Foundation and she currently serves as the New England Regional Manager of Cameron Hughes Wine. Supporters include Living Earth, Darrow Everett Attorneys and Business Advisors, Worcester Business Journal and Clark University.
