Mr. Clarke directed his staff to work with United Way to both select and distribute personal care items throughout the New Jersey, New York and Connecticut region to the people who could most benefit. Since United Way is already coordinating operations in those areas it was felt that it would be more efficient and effective to work through them rather than trying to distribute products directly.
“During this holiday season,” Clarke said, “we wanted to do something as a company to “give back” and help ease the plight of those unfortunate people who are still suffering from the effects of Sandy. That area of the country holds special significance to my family because my father originally started Miracle of Aloe 30 years ago in Westport, Connecticut. We have many family members and friends in that area and are keenly aware of the challenges many of them are facing.”
“While our donation won’t solve all the problems those poor people are going through,” continued Clarke, “we hope our modest contribution will show the people of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut that we have not forgotten them. We’re funneling our support through the United Way as an example to other businesses that when we work together, collectively we can and will make a difference in people’s lives.”
