Jan. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Artist Bud Clayton has had his latest body of work chosen by curator and gallery owner, Max Harrison to be shown in a solo exhibition at Gallery M Squared located at 339 W 19th Street. The exhibition, “On Time” will open in the New Year. January 31st, 2013, an opening reception with Clayton present on February 1st, 2013 from 7-9pm. “On Time” will close on February 24th, 2013.

Clayton’s work deals with time passing, the distress, and beauty he believes it renders. “On Time” consists of thirty (30) new paintings on hand built substrates. There is noticeable visual weight that the pieces lend by standing aprox 4 inches from the wall, boldly differing from the streamlined aesthetic of many contemporary painters working today. The compositions begin immediately at the edges, naked to the surrounding space, exploding and crackling into a barrage of shattered and distressed fields of vibrant color.

Clayton received great recognition for his DIY “Pop-Up” gallery exhibition that he held in July of 2012, covered by Glasstire.com (http://glasstire.com/2012/06/21/big-country-pop-up-clyde-...).

Bud Clayton is represented by Gallery M Squared and Alan Simmons Art + Design located in Houston, Texas and Dallas, Texas, respectively.

Clayton will be featured in the winter edition of Studio Visit Magazine releasing on January 15th 2013.
