Varty Defterderian

Before joining Weingarten Brown, Defterderian was an associate in the Century City office of O’Melveny & Myers, where among other cases she represented a footwear distributor in a copyright infringement, breach of contract and unfair competition action; a toning footwear designer in a nationwide class action involving false advertising and personal injury claims; and a media company in intellectual property litigation issues.
Defterderian earned her Juris Doctor from Boalt Hall, the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, where she was also awarded a Technology Program Certification. She served as Senior Articles Editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and Co-Programming Chair of the Boalt Hall Women’s Association. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Defterderian is fluent in Armenian and a member of the Armenian Bar Association.
