Jan. 1, 2013 - Noble Pies specializes in hand made baked goods from scratch using local fruits and vegetables, and no preservatives. Leslie Noble and Tom Herman have turned their simple pie stand on the side of the road in 2008 into a retail bakery offering over 40 kinds of pie and many other types of baked goods. Their sweet and savory pies, cookies, muffins, coffee cakes, scones and strudels are all available at the new cafe. Noble Pies Cafe offers a comfortable atmosphere to sit down and enjoy a slice of pie and gourmet coffee. They source their coffee from Java Love Coffee Roasters in Bethel, NY, and offer espressos and lattes. For the tea drinking crowd, they have loose teas from Zen Tara Teas in Bethesda, MD served either by the cup or by the pot. Daily specials are listed on Facebook, and special offers are made daily on Twitter, weekly on Foursquare.
Still a family business, the cafe is managed by Leslie’s son Zachary, who makes the daily run each morning to the bakery to get the freshly made items he will be serving. Everything served at Noble Pies Cafe comes from the bakery, but don’t let the term “bakery” mislead you. Noble Pies offers lunch and dinner savory pies, such as Chicken Pot Pie, Shepherd’s Pie, Beef Stew Pie, Kitchen Sink Quiche, and half a dozen more savory pies. Savory scones offer a quick lunch for those needing lighter fare.
