Hyper Heroes: A comic where Readers become Heroes

Dec. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Hyper Heroes is a superhero comic series currently raising capital on Kickstarter. This comic series is special because readers can become characters IN the story by backing the project at Kickstarter.

Hyper Heroes is a story about normal kids struggling with high school grades, social typecasting, bully attacks, unrequited love – and suddenly emerging hyperpowers. (In the story, hundreds of kids around the globe are becoming Hyper Heroes.)

All the characters in Hyper Heroes already are and will continue to be taken from real people among the series’ readers. Each customized Hyper Hero is tailored to the real-life strengths and qualities of the reader, from which their hyperpowers are defined. “This is very important for us”, says JC Alvarez, Creative Director of the project. “We firmly believe that our readers’ personal strengths should be celebrated, and we want them to believe it too.”

Hyper Heroes has been a digital comic for more than a year now; the comic can be read at hyperheroes.com, and last month a related Kickstarter project was launched at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hyperheroes/hyper-heroes, which will be live until January 11th, 2012.

“This project was born as a personal hobby in elementary school, a handmade comic with my schoolmates drawn as superheroes”, said JC. Now, with more than 20 years’ experience as a sequential artist and children’s book illustrator, he has decided to give that old school hobby a second chance, and with the economic help of some friends has managed to set up an art studio to produce the first issue of the Hyper Heroes comic, revamped and redesigned for a mass audience.
