During a recent visit to HESA in Van Nuys, California, Mack experienced firsthand the caring atmosphere the cat rescue provides. Nearly 150 living there now, potential adopters are thoroughly screened and all known information about the animal is disclosed to ensure the right match.
Eri Krietman, HESA’s founder, began the cat adoption operation out of her garage before moving to the home-like van Nuys location. Construction is currently underway for the new Perry MacFarlane Sanctuary and Care Center for Homeless Cats in North Hollywood, set to open in the spring of 2013.
“We are thrilled to have Jon join our cause,” says Kreitman.
Mack couldn’t be more enthusiastic. She met Kreitman at the organization's annual 'Purr-fectly Starry Night' fundraising event held this past November in Hollywood.
“I see this as a great opportunity to help more cats to be adopted,” says Mack.
Information on the new sanctuary including volunteer opportunities, ways to donate and upcoming adoption events in the Los Angeles area can be found on the organization's website.
